I’ve just returned from Austria, carrying summer’s slow rhythms into the studio. Between motherhood and making, ideas are stirring, quiet and persistent. A new direction is emerging, and THE LEAKY is where I’ll share it all—the process, the questions, and the tender, in-between moments that usually go unseen.
This month, I’ve been firing 15 large ceramic pieces, each shaped by months of care and the unforgiving heat of the kiln. Behind closed doors—studio and home—motherhood and making intertwine. Risk, trust, and quiet forces guide me, and soon I’ll open my Glasgow studio doors to share it all.
In this issue, I share a photograph of me in the studio by Alexander Hoyles. I reflect on how becoming a mother has shifted my work, bringing the human figure to the forefront of my practice. Some recent drawings from a Berlin residency are revisited, lingering between sketch and finished piece.
This issue introduces my first giclée print, BIRTH, depicting the vivid pause as a baby’s head emerges while the body remains within—a moment of tension, transformation, and maternal vulnerability. I announce an upcoming workshop with M.U.M.S, and highlight the Birth Rites Collection this week.
