RIGHT TIME, RIGHT PLACEOpening Reception: Saturday October 8th 2022, 5:30-8:30pmIntroduction & Tour with the artists at 6pm!Presented by Monira FoundationCurated by Katharina GruzeiPublic space has become a highly contested territory in the past decades. Right Time, Right Place is an artist-curated exhibition by Katharina Gruzei that showcases works by international established and upcoming artists with different approaches to the public sphere. Artists around the globe are taking to the public sphere, eschewing art-designated areas and traditional venues to connect with wider audiences, not necessarily represented by gallery visitors. This exhibition displays various artistic strategies, pointing out the potential of the public space as a social and political arena.  RIGHT TIME, RIGHT PLACE is kindly supported by the Federal Ministry Republic of Austria, City of Linz, Department of Arts and Culture Carinthia, Arts & Culture Upper Austria, the Austrian Cultural Forum New York and Monira Foundation.

Opening of „relay 3“ at Traway Glasgow, Albert Drive 6-8PM !

An art relay race during the month of July at Tramway, Glasgow, taking place over three weeks. Relay1 opens on Wednesday 3rd July; Relay2 on Wednesday 10th; Relay3 Wednesday 17th July.

Relay presents three consecutive group shows featuring a diverse group of graduate artists from the Glasgow School of Art. Re-examining the group show dynamic, each group of artists have the opportunity to ‘relay’ ideas between each other and then pass the baton to the next. Over the course of three weeks, each show presents new configurations of artists from the cohort, sparking new conversations between the works.

Art school end of year shows can present an excess of work from many months or years of study: the result can be overwhelming for both artist and viewer. Afterwards, the artist may find their way of working and access to resources has changed. Relay gives the artists space to run with their ideas.

Ten months after graduating, forty-three artists from the MLitt Fine Art programme return to participate in Relay, a self-organised show at Glasgow’s Tramway. Each show presents artists from various disciplines presenting new ways of working and developments in their practice. In this way, the public can see the R elay between art school to the cultural life of Glasgow and beyond.
